“Designing and Implementing Gender Components of the Uzbekistan: Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor 2 (Bukhara–Miskin–Urgench– Khiva) Railway Electrification" project
Ekvita, in partnership with Encompass Consulting, is making significant progress on the “Designing and Implementing Gender Components of the Uzbekistan: Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor 2 (Bukhara–Miskin–Urgench– Khiva) Railway Electrification" project funded by the Asian Development Bank.
Recently the team developed a communication campaign to raise awareness and break gender-specific stereotypes about women's roles in the railway sector. The initiative involved school openings in Tashkent, Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench and Khiva, where students and their parents were informed about successful women in the railway sector through visual materials. Representatives from Uzbekistan T'emir Yullari and Tashkent State Transport University also attended in these openings to address the audience's concerns and questions.
